EMOTIONAL DIFFERENCES RELATED TO SEX AND NATIONALITY AMONG A GROUP OF KUWAITI AND EGYPTIAN YEMTH....A Cross Cultural Study

The aim of this study is to find the differences between the Egyptian and the Kuwaiti youth related to sex and nationality according to their emotional characteristics.  The sample consists of 1034 youth (male and female).  There were 498 Kuwaitis and 536 Egyptians.  All the members of the sample were students in high school and Universities.

The cross-cultural method was used in this study.  The tool which was used in this study was the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI).  It was modified to apply in the Egyptian and Kuwaiti societies.  The ANOVA was used in the analysis in order to find out the main differences between the groups (Egyptian, Kuwaiti males and females).

The results show significant differences in all tests except the following: Inconsistency, Infrequency, Negative Impression, Somatic Complains and Suicide Ideation.  It was found that females in both societies have more psychological complaining than males.  It was also found that Kuwaiti youth have more psychological complaining than Egyptian youth.
