ATTITUDES OF SAUDI TOURISTS TOWARD DOMESTIC TOURISM

         This study has examined 40 factors, which influence the behavior of Saudi tourists towards domestic tourism in order to assess the extent of their effect on domestic tourism decision-making process.  The study was conducted on a sample of 222 individuals randomly selected in many different tourist areas in the Kingdom.  To examine these factors, a factor analysis was used yielding 6 groups of factors, which greatly influence domestic tourist decision.  Namely, they are economic, entertainment, social, natural, cultural and family factors.  The study recommends establishing a high-level tourist bureau to oversee tourism Kingdom wise.  It should be able to take all necessary procedures and decisions that improve the quality of domestic tourism.  It should also be responsible to tourism business development and investment in all areas, in addition to encouraging and promoting tourism activities to achieve their economic and social objectives.
