The Environmental Repercussion of the Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait

         This paper deals with the destruction that resulted from the Iraqi invasion of kuwait especially air, sea, and land pollution, in addition to environmental destruction and soil devastation resulting from the movement of heavy military equipment used by the Iraqi army.  International environ- mental destruction was clearly manifested in the damage caused to 1157 wells, whether set ablaze, gushing or completely destroyed.  The danger was  not limited to Kuwait but spread to neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia and went to Bahrain and as far as hawaii where soat levels increased by twenty times theit normal rate.  The paper also deals with Kuwaits climatic conditions and their effect on air pollution especially thermal inversion.  The paper also evaluates the sincere efforts and steps taken to fight water pollution and the other dangers that resulted from the flagrant cowardly action of the Iraqi army.  The paper concludes by calling for the establishment of an international courts for environmental security.
