ON THE FORMATION OF SOME GEOMORPHOLOGICAL LANDFORMS ASSOCIATED WITH CLIMATIC EXTREMISM IN KUWAIT
Auther : By: Dr. T. A. Al-Asfour and Dr. M. I. Al-Sheikh
This paper discusses the effect of climatic extremism of Kuwait on the development of some geomorphologic landforms in the areas of Ghidhai and Mudairah. Mechanical and Chemical weathering play an important role in the development of exfoliation, joint black separation, granular disintegration, splitting, honeycombs as well as pseudo-karstic type features. On the other hand, the temporary tanning water, which is associated with the rainy season can – in a limited way – dissect the slopes and transport sands to different levels.
