Auther : Dr. Aabdel Aziz Al-Noohy and Dr. Mohamed Al-Haddad

The State of Kuwait provides housing for the low and middle income families through its policy of securing houses and building land in new areas.  Thousands of families have moved to these new areas from their old locations, which are no more suitable.  As results of this movement, these families had to enter into new social relations with other families and give up their old relations in the areas from where they moved.

This study deals with the pressures to which the students of these families were exposed as a result of their movement to those new areas and the concomitant change of residence, school and friendship.  The study also deals with the relative difference in the forms of social control, means of social upbringing in addition to their facing different cultural phenomena and the impact of these variable scholarship achievement and behavior at school.  The conclusions include some recommendations that may help social workers in handling the problems of those students in an effective manner.
