TOWARDS COMPARATIVE ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES OF THE ARAB GULF STATES

Auther : By: Dr. Amer Al-Kobeisi

Comparative administrative studies can be of great value to countries that are related regionally, politically or ideologically. Such studies enhance close cooperation as well as unification that may be of different forms. This is true of the Gulf Arab States that have formed a joint Council of Cooperation. There is no doubt that comparative scientific as we well as field studies of their legislations, regimes and administrative systems can contribute towards close cooperation and information exchange that may eventually lead to their development and unity. This can also save the waste in effort in studies carried out by individual bodies and organizations in the said countries.

This study carries out a comparative analysis of different areas such as the administration of ports, banks, immigration and citizenship departments, postal services, tele-communications, television stations, universities, etc. Recommendations of the frame of future research and areas of studies are made for universities and research centers. The aim is to show how future administrative and legislative systems can be coordinated as a step towards future unity.
