Auther : By Dr. Hamad Ahmed El-Nakhal

The quality of the ground water in both Sana’a and Hudaydah areas, has been evaluated for irrigation and domestic uses, by using Wilcox (1949), Doneen (1961) methods and the standards applied in U.S.A. It has been proved that the quality of Sana’a ground water is much better that that of Hudaydah. The results of the present study have shown that:

  • 85% of Sana’a ground water is (excellent to good) for irrigation.

  • 4% of Hudaydah samples are (good to permissible) for irrigation.

  • All the samples of Sana’a are suitable for domestic uses.

  • All the samples of Hudaydah contain unsuitable amounts of at least one ingredient, and are considered unsuitable for domestic purposes.
