THE STRUCTURE AND EFFICACY OF THE INDUSTRIAL CORPORATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN KUWAIT
Auther : Mr. Abdul Bagi A. Al-Nouri
In any country, the second implementation of an industrial policy should be preceded by an overall coordination between the various government ministries and institutions and those of the non-government bodies and organizations which are concerned with industry. The State’s prime role in directing the industrial development lies mainly in setting objectives and defining policies which guide and formulate all the efforts needed for the participation in this vital task as well as in the strengthening of the organizational structure and ensuring its effectiveness.
Industrialization does not mean just putting up factories and ignoring the other sectors and organizational structures which are necessary to ensure the efficient and the proper progress of the industrialization programmes. Nevertheless, the prevailing trend in the majority of the developing countries tends towards concentrating on the construction of industrial units prior to developing the necessary for their guidance and proper coordination.
Kuwait, too, at the outset of its development followed a line similar to that of all the other developing countries in its desire for industrialization. And in the hope of directing this sector and providing the needed services, many organizational bodies have been set up, in addition to the Ministries and other governmental authorities which have the power to supervise and participate in the organization and development of the industrial sector.
