This is a refereed academic quarterly Journal, published by the Academic Publication Council, University of Kuwait. The first volume was published in January 1975.

The Journal publishes original academic research and studies ( both in Arabic and English). It publishes the latest arab publication in the field of Bibliography.

The journal observes a balance between researches dealing with the present states of the Gulf region and others that look into the future in all spheres of study and research.

Moreover, the journal aims at supporting and consolidating original academic and cultural research among citizens of the Gulf and Arabian peninsula.

For about 34 years of dedicated work, the journal has published 131 volumes, 19 publications, 15 special issue, two distinguished issues in 1992 and 1994 commemorating the atrocious Iraqi invasion of the state of Kuwait, and organized and sponsored five highly distinguished academic symposia.

The journal is listed in 11 international index and documentation centres, and is indexed in the data base of a number of international networks.

Moreover, the journal won, the Prize donated by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), dedicated to the publisher of the best research paper appearing in a Kuwaiti refereed acaddemic journal for the Year 1999, in the area of Humanities, vol (95).

Finally, the journal is distributed locally, in Arab countries and internationally. |
