A Study of Mirrors and Shadows in Mohammed El-Qadi's 'Then your Ash is in a dance' (in Arabic)
Auther : Kamal Al-Deeb
The study investigates the mirrors and the shadows in the collection “Then Your Ash in a Dance” by the Palestinian poet Muhammad Haseeb Al-Qadi, as a technical device. The poet employs them to reflect his psychological experience at the individual level and that of all his people at the thematic level.
The poet presents the image of the false and distorted situation that we witness in our everyday life and the image of the true and clean situation reflected truly by the mirrors and the shadows. The poet wants to emphasize that the first step on the right path is to stand before the self and confess its negative aspects.
The research tackles the mirror image from the perspectives of innovation, inventiveness, and imitation. The research concludes that the image is wholly invented.
Finally, it is claimed that the poet’s use of the mirror and the shadows elevates him in the fields of modernism and experimentation.
