The Imagination Theory of Coleridge and the Rites of Passage Theory of Gennep, and Their Effects on the Study of the Pre-Islam Arabic Poem Structure (in Arabic)

Auther : Ibrahim Ahmad Melhem

This study examines two important critical issues: the Imagination theory of Coleridge and the Rites of Passage of Gennep, and traces their effects on the study of the pre-Islam Arabic poem structure.

However, the main details of illustrating the first theory (the imagination) proceed towards the studies of the structure of the poem conducted by most orientalists. The study tried to monitor the effects of this theory on Arabic studies, and in order to study the structure considered some of the contemporary studies that have been benefited by the imagination concept, transcending the limited understanding of the Fancy.

Moreover, the study examines the anthropological theory, the Rites of Passage of V. Gennep, that was applied by Saussan Stettevych to the structure of the pre-Islamic Poem. It also demonstrates the attitudes of Arab scholars regarding this application.
