The Dulafids' Emirate in Mountainous Countries and Their Role in the Abbasid State (in Arabic)

Auther : Sulieman Abed Al-Kharabsheh

The present study aims at identifying the Arab Dulafids who were prominent in 4th/9th century events, some princes of whom played an important role in the history of the Abbasid State, served it well and founded a semi-independent emirate in mountainous countries as did other Abbasid Princes. This emirate also remained under the rule of six Dulafid princes for about seven decades. The Dulafids minted coinage with their names on it, while keeping their ultimate allegiance to the Abbasids till their rule collapsed in 289HD/898AD.

The study also aims at pinpointing the Dulafieds’ scientific, architectural and economic interests.
