Auther : Ahmed Bani Atta

The present study aimed at revealing aspects of similarities between the resonators of musical instruments and the Human resonating chambers. I have conducted an explanation of the mechanisms of some instruments based the vocal description in musical resonators and the resonating chamber of humans. There is a big similarity between the concaves and nature of musical instruments and the human cavities used for pronunciation. This study, therefore, set out to investigate elements of convergence between some musical instruments and human resonating chamber with regard to their concepts, forms and functions. A parallelism between phonetics and the science of music had been made based on the sound and its occurrence in some of musical instruments so as to find out their equivalents in phonetics, since the sound material is the same.
However, each science has its own way to express it.

Key words: Sound; music; resonating chambers
