Strategy of the Text: An Experimental Reading of “Fortune Grants to Each Man That to Which He Has Been Accustomed” by Al-Mutanabbi (in Arabic).
Auther : Sabah Alsowaifan
This research aims to discuss the poem “Fortune Grants to Each Man That to Which He Has Been Accustomed” by Abu- Tayyib al-Mutanabbi, through critical analysis of the discourse strategy in the poetic text in the text grammar. The methodology of modern discourse provides numerous mechanisms and procedures which contribute to highlighting the text and detecting its aesthetics. This study is divided into two sections: The first section focuses on the theoretical summary of the concept of discourse strategy in general and its relationship to the concept of text in modern criticism. The second section presents an experimental reading that is applied to the poem. The research raises questions about the effectiveness of reading poetic texts of our heritage by applying the tools of discourse studies and modern criticism.
