Grammatical Opinions of Abu Hayyan Andalusi between Theory and Practice (in Arabic)
Auther : Abdulmageed Falah
This paper deals with Abu Hayyan's "Al-Bahr Al-Muhit", in which he discussed many grammatical and syntactic issues with special emphasis on practical applications in Quranic texts. The book was concluded towards the end of Abu Hayyan's life.
The research also presents a simple and brief biography of the author, together with an introduction explaining differences in the opinions of some grammarians with respect to theory and practice, which is a common theme among ancient and modern grammarians. I also stated seventeen syntactic issues bearing differences between Abu Hayyan's grammatical opinions in his grammar books and his grammatical opinions in "Al-Bahr Al-Muhit", as an applied book. At the beginning of each issue I stated the opinions of other grammarians referring in the footnotes to their books or to other references expressing these opinions. Moreover, I explained what Abu Hayyan had selected in "Al-Bahr Al-Muhit" with regard to the same grammatical issues, and what he used to infer and figure out what he considered to be true.
At the end of the research, I stated what I concluded to be the author's own opinion and choices supported by valid arguments.
