Elegy Poetry among Shiites and Kharijites in the Umayyad Period (in Arabic)

Auther : Abdullah Al Qatam

Elegy Poetry has been established since the Arabs began to write poetry. It presents the feeling of poets towards dead men, and that occurs among Shiites and Kharejites more than other sects, because of their casualties.
The poets of Shiites and Kharijites continued to eulogize their dead persons in some warm poems, they used the real words, that the elegy was not flatter or blandish, and they composed their poems in that risk, using the real language, rhetoric and good style.
Among the Shiite poets: Abou Al-Aswad Al-Douali, Al-Fadhi Bin Al-Abbas, and Abou Dahbal Al-Jumahi, who composed elegy poems, and among Kharijite poets: Sumairah Bin Al-Ja’d, Issa Bin Fatik and Umran Ibn Hattan composed elegy poems. Opets are mentioned in the text.
This research concentrates on points of agreement and difference among the poets of Shiite and Kharijites. This includes the glossary used by both, the figures of speech and quotation from the Holy Quran.
