The Problem of the Relationship between the Dream and Reality in Ghawkha Al-harthy's Manamat (in Arabic)
Auther : Ehsan Sadiq Al-lawati
The relationship between dream and reality a big problem on which is based the novel Manamat by Ghawkha Al-harthi at the level of meaning and form. At the former level, it is observed that the two sides of the problem overlap a lot. The dream seems real and reality seems a dream, although they rarely might seem not overlapping each other, and at another level, the novel uses a number of technical devices which sometimes makes overlapping appear, and sometimes shows its absence.
This study is an attempt to make the nature of the relationship between dream and reality closer (in the novel) by looking at two important sides of it: the first side is represented by the dream jobs which relate to reality and deals with it clearly, beyond limit, translation of hope and symbolic movement. The other side is concerned with following the important technical devices which the novel used to discover the overlap between the dream and reality once and the split between them another time, which results in a discovery of the important materials used for constructing the total technical basis in which the meaning and form integrate together.
