Tawq al-Hamama By Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi: An Aesthetics Performance, or a Cultural Discourse? (in Arabic)
Auther : Najma A. Idrees
This Paper tries to raise the question whether the book of Tawq Al-Hamama by Ibn Hazm is a text of aesthetic performance, or a book in cultural discourse. This debate will be elaborated and discussed by providing features and evidence for each notion. Under aesthetics appear illustrations of poetry, intertextuality with other literary genres, technique, and the poetic title. Under cultural discourse appear elements of psychology, philosophy, and Islamic Shari’a, on the one hand, and method tools, social background and heritage on the other.
