The research refers to some facts of his life that may have influenced his personality, belief and creativity. It discusses the different aspects of his musical style using three piano works, his way of treating tonality and his harmonic innovations that reject the rules of conventional harmony, discussing his creative ideas concerning the relation between the development of harmony and musical forms according to the artistic goal. The research also deals with Debussy’s directions to the performer along with the form and content analysis of Prelude the Sunken Cathedral which was used as the basic example in the research.
