Auther : Amal Nusair
This study offers a cultural theoretical framework and analysis of Rumiat Abi Firas Al Hamadani. Through using cultural analysis, it was found that there are many cultural references in Rumiat Al-Hamadani that are mainly represented through phallic supremacy, it reveals hidden meanings in Arabic poetry and its cultural representations, such as undermining and repressing the other. Issues of marginalization appeared in al-Hamadanis poetry, such marginalization of the other was a result of phallic supremacy, patriarchal domination was represented through political institutions that gave supremacy to the male figure.
The political institution that caused the imprisonment of al Hamadani, lead him to form his own cultural and intellectual representations. This was demonstrated through the poets ability to manipulate authority. He used criticism and sarcasm to mock authority on one hand, and elevates himself above such authority on the other hand, his was achieved by presenting himself with best values and morals responding to the authority of political institutions.
