The Narrative Struture in Maqamat Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti (in Arabic)

Auther : Abdulla M. Al-Ghazali

Narrative style has been known as the most important of Arabic thoughts serving as a basic feature of expression in Arabic Literature. Therefore, different patterns of narrative tales and stories such as apologue tales, folk epics and magamat have been created and over the course of time accumulated.

This research is an attempt to demonstrate that Arabic thought with all the traditional cultural component has continued through the Mamluk age where the same pattern of literature prevailed.

This research was in particular focused on Magamat of Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti who died in 911 A.H/1505 A.D as an example of this pattern of narrative literature at that age.
