The Impact of Information Technology on the Linguistics of the Arabic Test (in Arabic)

Auther : Morad Mabrook

This research focuses on the following issues:

  1. The effect of technological progress on all walks of human knowledge and science. The computer ranks at the top in contributing to all sciences, particularly the science of Arabic phraseology in general, and criticism in particular. A number of studies that benefited from such technological progress, were made in the last quarter of this century.
  2. The current information boom has had a profound effect on all productive powers, inclusive of the production of human sciences, knowledge and information. This has, in turn, affected all other avenues of human knowledge. The Arabic and critical texts have been subjected to mathematical, statistical, and physical analyses making use of the scientific theories pertaining to textology.
  3. Since 1971, Arabic lexicography has been affected by the use of the computer. Dr. Ibrahim Anees has propounded the view of computer use which was implemented by Dr. Ali Helmy Moussa in four studies, on the lexicon of the Holy Quran, Al Sahah Dictionary, The Arab Tongue (Lisan Al Arab), The Brides Crown (Taj AI Arous). These studies represent the initial relationship between Arabic texts and the computer.
  4. Focus on the automatic processing of the Arabic syntax, morphology, phraseology, and speech was manifested in a study conducted by Dr. Nabeel Ali titled, The Arabic Language and the Computer. It is one of the significant studies which has attracted attention to the importance of the automatic processing of these patterns so as to keep pace with the advanced technology of the present era. Dr. Nabeel Ali discusses the difficulties of dealing with such patterns and suggests solutions.
  5. Some theories provide a purely scientific study of the context, such as the theories of semiotics, geometricism, deprivation, artificial intelligence, and continuation and work, all of which are related to the biology of textology.
  6. Some theories of stylistic analysis depend on mathematical, statistical and physical technologies, whereas others depend on manual statistics. The study conducted by Dr. Saad Maslouh on "The Style: A Statistical Linguistic Study", and the one conducted by Dr. Abdul Karim Hassan on "Structural Subjectivity: A Study in Sayabs Poetry" symbolize the use of mathematical statistics through contemporary advanced information technologies.
