The Influence Of T.V. and Newspapers Upon the Educational Process and the Need for Teacher-Training to Make Use of it (in Arabic)
Auther : Ahmad Bustan
Modern Societies need to revise their educational systems and strategies and have to develop new systems and styles in order to face continuous change of the society and the modern world advance in science and technology.
In early childhood, the individual gains his first and fundamental experiences in language, behavior and psychomoter skills at home. The family bears the main burden in the first process of education. On its culture and talents depends the achievement of the educational objectives for every child in the preschool stage.
After this stage, the primary school starts sharing with the family the educational responsibility. The school’s share becomes larger as the student moves from primary to intermediate, to secondary schools.
Newspapers and television have their direct and indirect influence on the educational process. Their indirect influence comes through their effect upon mothers and the other members of the family, forming the first educational environment for the child. Their direct effect comes through their impact and effects upon individuals. These effects include comprehension, imitation and identification with characters in t.v. programs or magazine articles.
These steps have created a great need to train teachers to make use of T.V. programmers and magazines in the teaching process, and to train information personnel in educational field. We need an integrated role for both educationalists and information personnel in achieving the general education goals related to continuous learning.
