The Crisis of The Iraqi Regime and the aggression on Kuwait A Historical Study of the Period 1936 - 1939 (in Arabic)
Auther : Mohammad A. Borg
It is known that any political regime which does not have internal popularity tries to achieve any external victory.
We have many examples of that during all periods of history. Charles sent his expedition to Algeria, Moussilini to Abbassynia etc.
We know that Ghazi I , King of Iraq, faced many problems on his accession to the throne. There were tribal revolts and a military coup was led by General Bakr Sidqi, and thus emerged the aspects of military dictatorship. Then began the first attempts of the Iraqi aggression on Kuwait. It is funny to know that he who attempted that said that it was the road to Arab Unity.
What occurred in that period was repeated during the reigns of the dictators Abdul-Karim Qasim and Saddam Hussein. When these regimes faced military defeats from Iran, they began their aggression on Kuwait. We know well that this was attempted by Saddam after losing war against Iran following his abolition of Algeria’s Convention of 1975.
