Auther : Ibrahim M. Al-Obiedy
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between the average number of children per a married woman and a number of socio-economic and demographic factors. This study is based on a filed research carried out by Ar-riyadh Development Authority during 1987. More than 5000 families were randomly selected and interviewed.
The finding of this study indicates that the average number of children per a married woman varies negatively and significantly with the husbands salary, husbands educational level, wifes educational level, percentage of working women in the family, females average age at marriage, nuclear family and families living in apartments. The overall findings support previous research in this area and the research hypothesis.
