A Computational Approach to Arabic Orthographic Relaxation

This paper introduces a finite-state computational approach to Arabic orthographic relaxation. Relaxation is a technique, which allows computational systems to handle human errors caused by orthographic variations existing in the Arabic orthographic system. The impact of such variations is considered in addition to exploring positive and negative aspects of the relaxation technique, which will be used to handle such variations.
