Comparative study on the effect of using traditional measures of performance and the measure of economic value added on stock prices
Auther : Emad Y. Al-Sheikh
The objective of this research is to measure the relationship between of the accounting standards on the performance of the traditional measures of Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), and the Earning per Share (EPS) and its impact on the market value of share prices. Also, to measure the relationship between the scale of the Economic Value Added (EVA) and its impact on the market value of stock prices. The appropriate statistical methods were used to test the hypotheses based on the research. The research found that there is a relationship between the traditional performance measures and the market price per share, to varying degrees, and shown that there is a relationship between the economic value added and market price per share. However, the degree of impact measures the economic value added to be greater than the traditional performance measures, and that the price of the stock market scale is associated with more economic value added than the traditional performance measures.
