The Effect of Cash Flows on the Stock Market Value of the Jordanian
Auther : Husni A. Khrawish
This study aims to measure the relationship between the cash flows and the stock market value of the banks and financial institutions. It also aims to point out the impact of cash flows behavior on the financial performance of these institutions. This necessitates the determining of variables relevant to cash flows and those, which have the greater effect on stock market value of banks and financial institutions. To examine such a presumed relation, the study covered 16 financial institutions listed in the Amman Financial Market for the period 1988-2001. A unified pattern was devised to test all companies and financial institutions using the multiple regression techniques. The analysis revealed that there was no statistically significant relation between stock market prices on the one hand and the net cash flows, net cash flows to short and long-term liabilities and owners equity on the other.
