Effectiveness of Quality Assurance Programs in Saudi Ministry of Health Hospitals

Auther : Khaled Saad A. Bin Saeed

The main objectives of this study were to identify the nurses' attitude towards the effectiveness of Quality Assurance Programs (QAPs) at the Saudi Ministry of Health Hospitals, and to determine factors, which influence the QAPs', and to their effectiveness. The results showed that about one-third of the sample (33.13%) reported that the QAPs were not effective; whereas about 9.91% of them reported the opposite. The data also indicated that there were statistically significant relationships between the effectiveness of QAPs as dependent variable and the following independent variables: the absence of quality assurance specialists, high turnover among nurses, understanding of QA by top managers, absence of awareness of QA importance, and absence of documented standards.
