The Relationship between Protestant Work Ethics and Higher-Order Needs and Its Impact on the Intention to Leave the Organization: An Applied Study on Kuwait University Students

Auther : Abdelnasser M. Hamodah
Hamad S. Al-Duaij

This paper attempts mainly to study Kuwait University students’ belief in Protestant work ethics, the strength of their higher-order needs, the impact of some personal and environmental factors on both variables, and the relationship between these two variables and students’ intention to leave college. A stratified sample from 684 students was selected. A main conclusion of the study was that Kuwait University students’ belief in the Value of Protestant work ethics and the strength of their higher-order needs are around average. The impact of cultural factors on the two variables is stronger than that of gender. Some statistical models about the relationship between the two variable and the students intention to leave college were developed.
