A Path Analysis of the Relationships between Supervisor Behavior and its Outcomes on Subordinates: A Test of three Suggested Causal Models
Auther : Abdelnasser M. Hamodah
The present study used Path Analysis in describing and analyzing the paths of causal relationships between supervisor behavior and its consequences on subordinates, in terms of: Overall Job Satisfaction, Psychological Strain, and Intention to Leave. Three theoretical models describing those causal relations were tested in a sample of employees working in Kuwaiti organizations. The model which suggests that supervisor behavior goes through the paths of Role Stressors and Uncertainty variables was approved. Also, adding Role Overload to the model, and decomposing Uncertainty to its three factors improved model ability to describe the relations and predict them.
