Determinants of Organizational Voluntarism Behavior In Public Organizations: An Empirical Study in Light of Contemporary Behavioral Perspectives
Auther : Mohamed Abdullatif K. Mohamed
This study seeks to investigate the extent of prevalence of what is called “Organizational Citizenship Behavior” in public organizations, as well as the effect of some contextual variables extracted from the latest organizational behavior theories on the level of engagement in such behaviors. A sample of (360) employees and (52) of their supervisors working for (10) Federal Ministries in the UAE participated in the study. Results showed that, on average, the level of citizenship practices was relatively low and that procedural justice, social cues, leadership, job satisfaction, social responsibility, and gender had direct effects on such practices.
