Relationship between Perceived Effectiveness; Objectivity of Performance Appraisal System and Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction and Performance: An Empirical Study

The study investigates employee’s perception of effectiveness and objectivity of performance appraisal system in the UAE organizations, and the relationship between perceived effectiveness and objectivity and organizational commitment, job satisfaction and job performance. The results indicate that level of perceived effectiveness and objectivity is low in the private sector and reasonably high in the joint sector. Results also indicate that there are positive and significant relationships between perceived effectiveness of performance appraisal system and organizational commitment, job satisfaction (satisfaction with supervisor and co-workers) and job performance. There are also positive and significant relationships between perceived objectivity and the above variables except satisfaction with co-workers.
