The Determinants and Outcomes of The Managerial Perception of Subordinates Commitment to the Organization: A Study Applied on The Administrative Employees at Assiut University
Auther : Adel R. Rayan
This study aims to examine the determinants and outcomes of the managerial perception of subordinates’ commitment to the organization. Organizational commitment has been classified into affective commitment and continuance commitment. A stratified random sample was selected from Assiut University employees to investigate these objectives. The analysis reveals that subordinates’ performance, organizational citizenship behavior and educational level represent the determinants of his affective commitment as perceived by his boss. While, organizational citizenship behavior and age of employee represent the determinants of his continuance commitment as perceived by his boss. Subordinates’ affective commitment, as perceived by the boss, was found to be positively associated with organizational outcomes (rewards, promotions, etc) as perceived by the subordinate. Most of these outcomes were found to be negatively associated with perceived continuance commitment.
