Organizational Commitment as a Mediator Variable between Destructive Leadership Behavior and Counterproductive Work Behaviors
Auther : Gamal A. Dahesh
The study aimed to examine the direct relationship between destructive leadership behavior and spread of counterproductive work behaviors (CWBs) for workers in the service districts in Minia Governorate, and the indirect role of organizational commitment as a mediator variable. Through the survey of (324) employees, the findings indicate a positive correlation between destructive leadership behavior and spread of counterproductive work behaviors of workers, and that the most important destructive leadership behaviors in this regard are loss of professional morality, corruption, and abuse of subordinates. The results also showed that all three components of organizational commitment (affective, normative, and continuous) partially mediate between destructive leadership behavior and spread of counterproductive work behavior.
